Hey, happy Friday! You know what’s good for Fridays? Comics.
Just an observation about the panels from this current scene… yes, I know it’s dark. It’s supposed to be dark. The one guy with the torch, he’s moved along up ahead and well, there goes the light source. I’m kind of walking a fine line between realism and making sh@t up here, and available lighting is still one of those things I’m trying to portray. It’s also the fact that I’m still getting used to coloring the pages — how much mood-setting is too much? Especially with a bug-eyed protagonist?
I do wonder how it’s going to look as I convert this stuff to black & white. Since we’re getting closer to the end of the issue, I’m going to have to solve that problem fairly soon. If it works out as cool as I’m hoping, a) by the end of August, SK05 will be ready to print and b) I’ll put up some select panels here to show you how I’ve adapted it.
Okay, lastly… I’ve been encouraged to see more traffic to the site recently; if this is your first time here, welcome! You’ve probably got the handle of it that this — these few panels that pop up here every five days — this is the meat of the site. There were going to be some potatoes, like reviews and random blog posts; that there is some skimpy potatoes for the moment. But I tell you, I TELL YOU, I’m working on the gravy. Mmm mmm, who doesn’t like gravy?
Now go outside and play with your brother, but be sure to come back every five days now. Dinner’s almost ready.
