Happy Independence Day, happy 4th of July, happy three days after Canada Day! Or just “yay, it’s new installment day here at salvagerkain.com“! It doesn’t matter to me WHY you’re celebrating, just that you are.
Here’s a starter: this installment marks something special for me — the closest I’ve come to not having the next installment ready! Yup… I’ve used up everything in the pipeline, which means I REALLY need to carve out some time on this in the next five days. July, even only four days in, is shaping up to be a heck of a busy month. Did I mention my wife and I just moved back to Illinois, we both have colds, and the non-comics (= paying) work has hit a yearly high? But don’t worry… that’s why there’s evening hours, the ones where people sleep: so I can crank out the next few bits of the story.
And I *do* want to get on to the next part of the story. Since I’ve been plotting these webcomic chapters much like a regular comic, the closer we get to the 20th page overall, the closer we get to a conclusion (in some manner; this is also the first multiple-issue arc I’ve started, just as a reminder, so it’s going to keep going for while). And, since so much of the webcomic up to now has just been setup & exposition, it’s almost time for me to start trotting out the chewy nougat center of this issue’s twist. So, you heard it here first, today: chewy, and nougat. Coming up. Soon!
